ABOUT

DJ S@iN+ (real name Marc Church) is an Ann Arbor/Detroit based electronic music DJ who has spent nearly a decade spinning sets at numerous clubs throughout Michigan (Labyrinth, Karma, X-Cel ) as well as in Windsor, Canada.

Starting as a college radio and Internet DJ he quickly made the transition to clubs with his first residency at the Labyrinth in Detroit, eventually moving upstairs to the larger City Club.

In October 2003 he spun a set at the Motorpop 2 festival in Cleveland, Ohio - a festival featuring E-Craft, Decoded Feedback, Terrofakt and more.

::Struktur:: Thursday nights at Cavern Club were launched in March 2004 and despite lasting only a short 6 months, featured some great sets, guest DJ's and underground bands - all contributing to the Detroit/A2 scene.

Looking to extend his DJ name and résumé even further, in August of 2004 he traveled to the UK's premier festival of alternative electronic music - InFest. There he spun 2 sets before and after Suicide Commando and kept company with some of the best dj's across the pond

Upon returning he accepted a monthly guest spot alongside resident DJ Jinx at the legendary Ann Arbor club Necto voted "Best new club in the nation." (URB MAGAZINE 2002) and who has hosted; Richie Hawtin, Joey Beltram, Felix Da Housecat, Derrick May, Green Velvet, Armin Van Buuren, Timo Maas, John Acquaviva, Dan Bell, Max Graham, The Crystal Method, Paul Van Dyk ,Marco Carolla, D;Fuse, and Marco V among numerous others.

Not stopping there in 2005 - DJ S@iN+ ventured out of Michigan playing club nights in Indianapolis, Indianna and Lousiville, Kentucky (March 2005). In August he was scheduled to spin at the Black Sun Music Festival in New Haven, Connecticut yet due to a last minute emergency had to unfortunately cancel. Two months later he'd be out on the road with friends Terrorfakt, E-Craft, Mono No Aware and Glis for portions of their midwest tour which included a DJ date in Madison, Wisconsin.

Before wrapping up the progression of 2005, S@iN+ also turned in guest sets at local Detroit clubs Mephistos and Luna while secretly planning his attack for 2006.

Two days into 2006 club goers would feel the attack with two special nights at Necto called UNTERGANG. Planned and conceived along with friend DJ Kriegschrei, UNTERGANG focused solely on playing only harsh industrial while dipping into power noise and other forms of hard music (break core/gabber).

2006 continued to shape up to be a good year having included regular guest sets at Luna (Industrial 101 event in particular), Necto and other Detroit area clubs. In August, DJ Saint made a return trip to the Infest Festival spinning before and after Rotersand. A few days after arriving home from the U.K. it was back out on the road with friends TERRORFAKT and Tonikom for a few DJ dates in Cleveland (as part of Electrophest 2006), Bloomington, Indianna and finally home in Detroit.

In March of 2007, Saint was dismissed from Necto ("complaints of noise" said the managers - truth is it was a jealous and ego-damaged resident DJ). This resulted in him taking a bit of a hiatus from DJ'ing for a few months. On May 26 he returned to City Club driven and motivated. In July he traveled again to Bloomington along with DJ's Meta and Arcsine and will likely spend some more time on the roads traveling and DJ'ing later in 2007.
September of 2007 will find him DJ'ing at St. Andrews Hall | Shelter for the Motorpop3 event.

DJ S@iN+ currently is the Saturday resident DJ at Detroit's Leland City Club - one of America's longest running underground industrial clubs. With an accelerated work ethic, he also tirelessly promotes concerts, new releases and special events through his work with Darque Productions.

DJ S@iN+ continues to mix the innovative pioneers with the progressive newcomers, the obscure with the recognizable - all the while perpetually maintaining a technical and inventive rhythmic flow that makes his sets both danceable and emotionally moving.
